Summary

Melvyn Bragg is joined by Tate director Nicholas Serota as he revisits a 1983 interview with David Hockney, at his studio in Los Angeles. The Yorkshire-born artist showcased the creative process behind his well-known Polaroid collages, discussed his painting Splash, and also explained his fascination with water and swimming pools. Serota also compares the way Hockney challenges perceptions of the world to that of Picasso and looks at the artist's ability to work in a variety of mediums, including his art on tablet computers.
