Episode 1/8
Top MI5 agent Lucas North has returned from Russia after eight years in a prison there. He's in peak physical condition, having kept himself sane by following a disciplined fitness regime, and Harry's delighted to have him back. But is he as sound in mind as in body? Meanwhile, Adam has to rescue a kidnapped British soldier from al-Qaeda, and Ros has to escape Russia when her cover is blown.
RT Choice (Alison Graham, 27 October 2008)
Believe it or not, we've reached the seventh series of Spooks, yet its standards are still toweringly high and, if anything, it gets better with age. The opening two-part story is an absolute corker that doesn't waste a second, piling on action sequences, snappy dialogue and a shock that might just leave you poleaxed at the end of the episode.

Episode 2/8
Harry wants revenge after the bombing, and his target is Arkady Kachimov, head of Russia's intelligence services in Britain. But the British government won't back him up, so he deploys Ros to get some concrete evidence to support his plan. Meanwhile, Lucas wants to be back on the grid, but his connections with Kachimov make Harry uneasy and he is ordered to stay clear. Later, it looks like Harry's suspicions are well founded when Lucas meets with his Russian handler and ex-wife Elizabeta.

Episode 3/8
Ben is sent on a mission to find out more about an al-Qaeda cell that is rumoured to be planning a bombing campaign in London. He manages to infiltrate the group but during what he believes to be a dry run for the attacks, he suddenly realises the real operation is underway and that he only has minutes to save innocent members of the public from a horrific death.
-
Episode 4/8
Ros and Harry meet high-ranking al-Qaeda operative Muhammed Khordad in the hope that they can bring the war on terror to a close. But Khordad tells them a bomb has been left somewhere in London and unless the British government release two al-Qaeda prisoners, it will be detonated. But Harry also has to deal with the discovery that one of his agents may be the Russian mole.

Episode 5/8

Ros has been sent to investigate the affairs of businessman Alexis Meynell who has a reputation for exploiting troubled economies. Posing as an employee, Ros has to rethink her strategy when a Russian colleague recognises Lucas, who is undercover as her husband.

Episode 6/8
A key part of an assassin's toolkit is up for sale on the web and Lucas has been charged with recovering it as quickly as possible. But when he arrives at the home of the vendor, Lucas spots armed men close to the building, indicating interest from someone outside MI5. -
Episode 7/8
Lucas has been sent to Russia to help save operation Sugarhorse from collapse. But on his arrival he discovers his contact, Maria, has been killed. Back at HQ, Harry has been framed and is under arrest on suspicion of being the Russian mole. Convinced of Harry's innocence, the team begin to look through the archives in search of any clues to what may have taken place, but it's Lucas who finally comes through with the identity of the real mole.
-
