  • Episode 1/23 Semi-Detached

    When controversial DJ Ray Garnett is found in the bilge of the Staten Island Ferry - dead from carbon monoxide poisoning - it looks like suicide. His wife Kelly admits he'd overdosed on anti-depressants before but the autopsy suggests he was being given placebos which had recently been switched back to real drugs. It's a case of murder by suicide. Then Ray's maid is pushed down the stairs and killed. Did she know something?

  • Episode 2/23 The Posthumous Collection

    Following a mysterious phone call, world-renowned photographer Gerhardt Heltman makes a sudden decision to move back to Germany. But before he can leave the country, he's found dead at the scene of a horrific car crash. Goren and Eames's investigations uncover a macabre collection of photographs of dead women. The subjects are linked by one thing - they all owned sketches of themselves made by the same artist.

  • Episode 3/23 Want

    Stripper Amanda Norman is murdered and dumped in a park. A hole has been drilled in her head. Investigation turns up the case of Claire Massey, who was subjected to the same horrific "operation" but lived to tell the tale. A suspect is identified and Goren and Eames manage to search his apartment. But when they find the evidence they need, Goren's keen to ensure the man avoids the death penalty. Guest starring Neil Patrick Harris.

  • Episode 4/23 Great Barrier

    After committing her latest robbery, jewel thief Ella Miyazaki murders her accomplice. But why? Goren and Eames discover that Ella's subtle heists have been masterminded by her lover Nicole Wallace (Olivia d'Abo) - a long-standing nemesis of Goren's. As the detectives delve into the personal and working relationships between the two women, they uncover a plot to dispose of Nicole's ex-husband, and an even darker secret from her past.

  • Episode 5/23 Eosphoros

    The head of anti-religion organisation the Atheist Federation is kidnapped and executed. Members of the group insist the murder was politically motivated, despite a ransom demand, paid in gold coins, which led to the release of the woman's granddaughter. But why was one of the kidnappers also killed? And what's become of the missing gold? Goren thinks he knows.

  • Episode 6/23 In the Dark

    The murder of several homeless people leads Goren and Eames into the dark world of body parts harvesting. But what's the connection to another form of parts harvesting - this time of automobiles? As the detectives follow a trail from one to the other, an intricate scheme emerges. The killer wants to prove his devotion to the woman he loves, unaware that his efforts are all for nothing.

  • Episode 7/23 Magnificat

    A car bomb kills three children and injures a fourth, as well as their mother. Goren and Eames's first port of call is the family of a Middle Eastern man who was spotted at the scene of the explosion. The detectives are soon admonishing themselves for their own prejudice. It seems the culprit is much closer to home. But is the person who planted the bomb really the one responsible for the tragedy?

  • Episode 8/23 Silver Lining

    A woman is found strangled on a park bench. Her purse is missing but tools in her possession identify her as an expert in antique silver. Was the unfortunate woman killed for refusing to authenticate a collection containing stolen silver? When it emerges that the silver in question has since gone missing, it becomes clear that a notorious master thief is responsible. But is he also capable of murder?

  • Episode 9/23 Inert Dwarf

    Deliberate radiation poisoning kills the protégé of renowned physicist Dr John Manotti, a wheelchair user. Evidence suggests Manotti's beautiful young wife has been physically abusing her defenceless husband. But does she have a motive for murdering his colleague? When Goren and Eames discover that Manotti's latest, unpublished, thesis does not stand up to scrutiny, another possibility presents itself.

  • Episode 10/23 The View from Up Here

    Law & Order: Criminal Intent Series four The View from Up Here © NBCThe president of the housing association at a swanky Manhattan apartment block is murdered with a circular saw. In search of the killer, Goren and Eames must look beyond the building's marble façade, past the shoddy construction and leaky plumbing, into the hive of secrets within, where their attention is drawn to a young nanny who believes she is receiving messages from God.

    There are some amusing scenes - and the killer's motive is so obscure you'd have to be a clairvoyant to guess their identity before the end - but generally the best way to enjoy this is to suspend your disbelief.

  • Episode 11/23 Gone

    Law & Order: Criminal Intent Series four Gone © NBCOn her first visit to New York, a newly engaged woman is killed, mutilated and tossed in a rubbish bin. After studying the passenger list of the flight she was on, Goren and Eames notice the seemingly erratic movements of one man in particular, former chess champion David Blum (Robert Carradine). More than 20 years after losing his title and his livelihood, Blum has become dangerously paranoid.

    Goodness me, who thinks this stuff up? What kind of tortured minds create Criminal Intent plots? Do they sit in darkened hovels wearing fingerless gloves, feasting on rats and coming up with barking-mad stories like this one?

  • Episode 12/23 Collective

    A seductive and predatory female stalks science-fiction and fantasy conventions in search of lonely men with valuable collections of memorabilia. When one of her victims is mistakenly shot dead by police officers, Goren and Eames investigate. Meanwhile, the woman is working on her next target, a member of a vampire-obsessed cult. But has she bitten off more than she can chew?

    Those impossibly perceptive cops, Goren and Eames, enter the murky, musty world of sci-fi and horror geeks. In an episode full of kinky thrills, the trail leads to a secretive but randy group of pallid, death-obsessed fans of 1950s vampire fiction. Goren (the dead-eyed Vincent D'Onofrio) is in his element.

  • Episode 13/23 Stress Position

    Law & Order: Criminal Intent Series four Stress Position © NBCThe murder of a prison officer looks to be the result of a dispute within a contraband ring. But further investigation leads to the discovery of a secret prison, where suspects of Middle Eastern origin are kept without charge and subjected to abuse and torture. Goren and Eames team up with maverick detective Mike Logan (Law & Order's Christopher Noth) as the two men risk their lives inside the facility.

  • Episode 14/23 Sex Club

    Law & Order: Criminal Intent Series four Sex Club © NBCWhen infamous playboy George Merritt (Peter Bogdonovich) auctions off his "little black book", the new owner has little chance to consult it - he's murdered and the book is stolen. US senatorial candidate Jim Radcliff (Matt Servitto) is a suspect - his infidelities are documented in the book and would provide ammunition for his political rivals - but a second murder means the case must be reassessed. Also starring Rosanna Arquette.

  • Episode 15/23 Death Roe

    A female restaurant critic is beaten to death and the prime suspect, a promising young chef, disappears. In the search for leads, Goren and Eames probe the uneasy relationship between the missing man's wife and her father (Chris Penn), a well-known chef and restaurateur. As the investigation proceeds, Goren makes a discovery that suggests the unfortunate son-in-law has met a gruesome end.

  • Episode 16/23 Ex Stasis

    A young woman is gunned down after being lured to a bogus appointment. At first, Goren and Eames suspect she was killed so that her organs could be harvested. Then they discover that the victim had herself been the recipient of an organ, from seemingly philanthropic donor Boyce Wainwright. Could Wainwright be taking a deeper interest in the lives he helped to save?

  • Episode 17/23 Shibboleth

    When a 911 operator overhears the murder of a young woman, Goren and Eames fear a serial killer has re-surfaced after a spree that ended 16 years ago. Although forensic evidence points to troubled young man Keith Durbin, who was recently released from prison, Goren is convinced the police have arrested the wrong person. But could Durbin have some other connection to the murders?

  • Episode 18/23 The Good Child

    When a couple under the Witness Protection Program are murdered in their home, Goren and Eames assume they're the victims of the crime family they testified against. It soon becomes clear, however, that the key to the case is the victims' adopted daughter and her secret relationship with her biological parents. Do the couple simply want another chance with the child they gave up, or are their intentions more sinister?

  • Episode 19/23 Beast

    Lisa Ross awakens one morning to find her face horribly disfigured. She's rushed to hospital but later dies. The cause: dioxin poisoning. Goren and Eames hear rumours that Linda was unfaithful to her dentist husband Greg (Bronson Pinchot), and discover that she's not the first woman he's known who has died of dioxin poisoning. Was Lisa's murder provoked by jealousy? And exactly how was the poison administered?

  • Episode 20/23 No Exit

    A train ploughs into a car that's been parked on the railway tracks, killing the five young adults inside. The police trace the beginnings of the tragedy to a website called Terminal Decision, which provides help to those wishing to kill themselves. The incident looks to be a suicide pact, except for one thing - one of the passengers had struggled to escape from the car before it was hit.

  • Episode 21/23 The Unblinking Eye

    A young woman is shot dead and her boyfriend, up-and-coming actor Michael Pike, is wounded. Was Pike's obsessive ex-girlfriend responsible for the murders? And where does her hobby of hi-tech treasure-hunting fit in? Goren investigates the website she frequents, before turning his attention to some of Pike's actor friends - in particular, one whose palm pilot is never out of his grasp.

  • Episode 22/23 My Good Name

    Captain Deakins is less than impressed when Goren and Eames's latest murder investigation leads them in the direction of his friend Frank Adair (Michael Rispoli), a decorated and highly respected former police officer. But when Adair is revealed to have been having an affair with the missing wife of the murder victim, even Deakins begins to have doubts about his friend's squeaky-clean image.

  • Episode 23/23 False-Hearted Judges

    An imprisoned white supremacist comes under suspicion when a judge and her son are killed in a sniper-style shooting. Then a second judge is killed in broad daylight on a handball court. Is it open season on the judiciary, or was the first killing a smoke screen? Goren and Eames follow the trail of killings back to a disaffected father and his adopted "son".
