Gavin and Stacey
Overview
Romantic comedy typically gets its laughs from the misunderstandings of the new lovers as their relationship blossoms and falters. Not so Gavin and Stacey; for the kind-hearted Essex boy and the sweet-natured girl from Wales, it's love at first sight and nothing much can get in the way. Except, that is, the antics of their larger-than-life friends and relatives. Whether it's Gavin's excitable mother Pam fretting about his wellbeing, or Stacey's solitary Uncle Bryn issuing her with a rape alarm on her first date, their well-meaning loved ones are determined to help out - whatever the consequences.
