The cause of their troubles soon becomes obvious when Martin opens the fridge and finds mould growing over the contents. Episode 6/8 The Family Way
The arrival of Martin's parents for a surprise visit brings to the surface all the buried family tensions. Martin's father Christopher is no more enamoured of his son's career path than he was the last time they spoke seven years ago, and his mother is distinctly distant. But it's when they pay a call on Aunt Joan that the true reason for their visit emerges, and sparks really begin to fly. -
Episode 7/8 Out of the Woods
Martin turns down the chance to be Mark Mylow's best man but Al Large is happy to oblige and sets about organising a camping weekend instead of the usual boozy stag night. But the trip ends in disaster when Mark gets bitten by a snake and suffers a potentially dangerous allergic reaction. Back at the surgery, Martin has to treat a succession of weever fish stings among some village children who have been playing a dangerous game of dare. -

Martin has advised patient, Mrs Tishell, to remove the neck brace she has been wearing for years because he doesn't think it's doing her any good. Mrs Tishell is adamant the collar prevents her neck pain but Martin manages to get her to remove it, although the process ends in an ambulance trip to the hospital. Meanwhile, Louisa rejects Danny's suggestion she move in with him and decides to see how Martin will react when she tells him.
