The first spin-off of gritty police procedural CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shifts the action from Las Vegas to the steamy streets of south Florida. The charismatic and intuitive Horatio Caine leads a crack team of forensic officers into the seedy nightclubs, cheap hotels and characterless housing tracts of the Miami suburbs, where they pick their way through murder-scene detritus in search of clues. Probing the evidence is young, middle-class Tim Speedle; humorous Eric Delko, who specialises in underwater recovery; young coroner Alexx Woods, who has a habit of talking to the corpses; ballistics expert Calleigh Duquesne; and new recruit Ryan Wolfe.
