Episode 1/14 He that Believeth in Me
Back from the dead, Starbuck is pitched straight into battle - until a strange encounter between Anders and a Raider triggers a mass retreat by the Cylons. Lee is overjoyed to see Starbuck, but others are suspicious. Starbuck claims she's found the way to Earth, and that she was gone for just six hours - so where has she been for the last two months? Baltar, meanwhile, finds himself an object of worship by a cult comprised almost entirely of young women.

The climactic season of the colossal sci-fi saga opens with a dizzying double bill
The effects team are masters of combat, never prettifying war, but showing it for what it is: disorientating, messy and hellish. And the writers have preserved all the show's strengths. From the pounding action of episode one to the emotional sweet spots of part two, this diamond among dramas still gleams - blindingly. -
Episode 2/14 Six of One
Starbuck's intuitive feeling for the whereabouts of Earth is fading. As far as she's concerned, they're heading in the wrong direction, and she takes drastic action. Meanwhile, the four newly activated Cylons suspect Baltar has information about their situation and send Tory to get close to him. Lee receives a heartfelt sendoff as he embarks on his new government career. Within the Cylon fleet, the apparent evolution of the Raiders causes a schism that quickly turns bloody.

Episode 3/14 The Ties that Bind
Chief Tyrol is easily the one who's finding it hardest to cope with the knowledge that he's a Cylon - and wife Cally is finding it impossible to cope with his distraction. Convinced that he must be having an affair, she tries to find out the truth. Similarly, Lee Adama wants to get to the bottom of one particular issue in his new role as a politician - but is he already being manipulated? And nobody aboard Kara's ship believes she knows what she's doing.

The production team pulls no punches tonight as the imperious war drama intensifies, sweeping its searchlight across many of the characters[ ]
But it's the "who's a Cylon and who isn't?" question that's most gripping and, with that particular powder keg in front of him, writer Michael Taylor tosses in a lit match. It's devastating. -
Episode 4/14 Escape Velocity
After the shock of Cally's death, a sombre atmosphere descends on Galactica and Tyrol's despair leads to a dangerous clash with Admiral Adama. Baltar, urged on by his own personal Number Six, finds himself in the brig after interrupting a polytheistic meeting to promote his one true God. Meanwhile, Tigh is drawn into a disturbing but seductive relationship with the imprisoned Six after seeking answers about his Cylon nature.

If you're still reeling from last week's onslaught, you won't be handled with kid gloves by tonight's episode[ ]
It's an instalment that bristles with the show's customary intensity, but it lacks clarity and flow. The brutality that BG boss Ron Moore promised is certainly there, but the humanity that usually warms the show has gone AWOL. -
Episode 5/14 The Road Less Travelled
On board the Demetrius, morale is low. The search for Earth is proving fruitless and Kara seems increasingly out of touch with reality. With mutiny brewing, Kara makes a sudden decision to go on a Viper patrol - and encounters her old nemesis Leoben. Meanwhile, aboard the Galactica, Tyrol is struggling to recover from Cally's death, and finds himself drawn to one of Baltar's sermons.
RT Choice (Mark Braxton, 6 May 2008)
Small gestures count for much in this tempestuous drama, especially when hatred and suspicion are splintering humans and Cylons into ever-smaller factions. So when a handshake seals a reconciliation between two polarised characters, it's like a stab of light through the gloomy fug[ ]

Episode 6/14 Faith
Mutiny aboard the Demetrius ends in violence and, finally, an agreement: Kara will lead a Raptor team, including Anders and Athena, to the damaged Cylon basestar in search of the hybrid and clues to the route to Earth. If they don't return in time, the Demetrius will leave without them to rendezvous with Galactica. Meanwhile, back on board Galactica, an encounter with a terminally ill patient leads Roslin to re-evaluate the teachings of Gaius Baltar.
-
Episode 7/14 Guess What's Coming to Dinner?
When the Demetrius at first fails to make the FTL jump along with the Cylon baseship, Kara and her team are just moments away from being blown to pieces by Galactica. The initial confusion over, Adama and Roslin find themselves face to face with Cylon leader Natalie, agreeing to an uneasy alliance against the other Cylon faction. At stake, a route to Earth - and the identities of the final five Cylons hidden within the human fleet.
-
Episode 8/14 Sine Qua Non
President Roslin's abduction calls for abrupt and serious measures by Adama - which only further inflame the situation within the fleet. A familiar face makes a return to try taking advantage as a struggle for overall power breaks out. And at least some of Tigh's darkest secrets are uncovered - but will that include the very biggest of them all?
-
Episode 9/14 The Hub
It's the strangest military operation the Colonial fleet has ever attempted: Viper pilots mount an attack on the Resurrection Hub alongside their new Cylon allies. But the intensity and danger of the battle are matched by the decisions Roslin must make - not to mention a discovery about Gaius Baltar
