Night Train to Venice

(1993)

Journalist and neo-Nazi expert Martin Gamil (Hugh Grant) is victimized by skinheads during his train trip from Munich to Venice and spends the rest of the film agonising over his plight. Malcolm McDowell is “the stranger“ who looks on with smug delight. Of course, the skinheads aren't finished with him just yet … Erratically edited and incoherently directed, this is mostly just murky and boring, with lots of race-hate cruelty thrown in to spice things up. As repulsive as it sounds. ST
