Review

Eminent radio drama director Jessica Dromgoole returns to familiar territory in these five short productions. In the week leading up to Easter last year she put out a sequence of plays set in modern-day London but drawn from Old Testament stories, each penned by a different writer.

As we fast approach Christmas she presents another series set in current times, but the tales of inspiration are taken from the New Testament. The re-versioning of The Good Samaritan by Katie Hims, for example, places the story of prejudice confounded by kindness on the London Underground.

Summary

A series of New Testament stories revisited and updated to present-day London, introduced by the Rev Giles Fraser. Dawn King sets the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders in a construction firm working on a private conversion, where the boss starts to cut corners. With Ben Crowe (Tony), Patrick Brennan (Aleksy), Will Howard (Joe), Paul Stonehouse (Eric) and Liza Sadovy (Nina). Directed by Jessica Dromgoole.
