Spells, charms and an imagined cursing. Taking its title from the word for a malicious act of witchcraft - Maleficium draws on real terrifying accounts of witches' trials and confessions to create voices for three imaginary characters. Alice, Margery and Jinnet - a farm hand, a farmer's wife and an elderly "cunning-woman" - two of whom are brought to the point of tragedy when they're accused of witchcraft by the other.
