And the Academy Award Goes To

All About Eve

Series 6 - Episode 1 All About Eve

New series. Paul Gambaccini returns with the show celebrating the history of the Academy Awards, via three more notable nominees. Inspired by the announcement that Damien Chazelle's La La Land is in with a chance of winning 14 Oscars this year, Paul turns attention to All About Eve; which in 1950 became the first film to achieve that many nominations. Eventually claiming six statuettes, All About Eve helped lead actress Bette Davis make her comeback, and became another chapter in the Academy's long and storied history of showering acclaim on films about show-business.
