Mary Jo Heath introduces a performance of Puccini's first operatic triumph, Manon Lescaut, live from the Met in New York. Soprano Anna Netrebko takes the title role as the irresistible courtesan and ultimately doomed heroine, while tenor Marcelo Alvarez plays her obsessive lover Des Grieux. Marco Amiliato conducts the orchestra and chorus, in this production by Richard Eyre. Manon Lescaut.
