Folk singer John Tams examines the story of the Luddites through the songs they sang about their machine-breaking exploits, hardship and their hero General Ludd. The trend of Luddism began in the Midlands in 1811 before sweeping north to Yorkshire and Lancashire, and was a form of protest against the introduction of new equipment in mills. First aired in 2011.
