You will love the Moselle Valley with its gently sloping landscape, imposing half-ruined castles, picturesque villages with half-timbered houses and picture-postcard medieval settlements. Over the course of six days you will have time to explore the delights of the Moselle river as well as historic towns like Aachen, the birthplace of Charlemagne, the “Father of Europe”; Trier, which dates back to Roman times and is Germany’s oldest city; and Cochem, which is at the centre of the region’s wine trade and whose castle offers panoramic views over Rhineland’s vineyards.

If you can tear your yes away from the beauty and the history make sure you take time to sample some of the local fine wines like the world-famous piesporter or, if you prefer, the equally spectacular cakes!
