As Corrie fans know, Ockenden plays creepy Will Chatterton, an ex-boyfriend of Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) who is currently stalking her and even went so far as to recently lock her in the boot of a car.

Appearing on This Morning, Ockenden revealed that he has filmed his final scenes, which should air next month.

“I finished on Corrie a week and a half ago,” he said. “The storyline builds to a massive climax around the end of September.”

Asked by presenter Ruth Langsford whether Will could ever return to Weatherfield, Ockenden commented: “I think it’s going to be a fitting and dramatic climax for everyone.”

The actor will next be seen starring alongside former EastEnders star Charlie Brooks in the play How the Other Half Loves.
