Miami Dolphins v New Orleans Saints is being broadcast live on Sunday 1st October at 1.45pm on BBC2 (kick-off 2.30pm).
Where’s the game on?
This Sunday’s match is on at Wembley, which has been the go-to host for this US import, but that’s soon to change: Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium has been designed literally from the ground up to host NFL games. The regular football pitch will be “fully retractable”; beneath the grass surface will be another pitch – this one synthetic – on which future American football games will be played.
Nat Coombs presents coverage of the match from the fourth round of fixtures.
Have these teams played at Wembley before?
This will be a fourth trip to England’s national stadium for the Dolphins, who appeared in the first International Series game here in 2007 when they lost 13-10 to the New York Giants, while their most recent appearance saw them defeated 27-14 by the New York Jets in 2015. The Saints have less experience of playing at Wembley, but did register a 37-32 win over the then-San Diego Chargers in 2008, in their only previous trip to the United Kingdom.
