Will Love Island’s Chris and Kem team up with Stormzy at V Festival?

"Stormzy loves the boys... he told them he’ll make it happen and he really wants to do it"

Ever since Love Island’s breakout bromance/wannabe rappers Chris and Kem emerged from the villa, they’ve been promising that their fabled team-up with grime artist and show superfan Stormzy really is a goer.

“It will happen, yeah. Something will happen, definitely. 100%,” Chris told us not long after returning home, while Kem didn’t waste any time hitting up Stormzy on Twitter, even attempting to ply him with food in order to make the collaboration happen…

But so far, nothing. As the weeks have passed, we’ve been scouring the charts yet seen no sign of Chris, Kem and Stormzy’s track – but maybe we’ve been looking in the wrong place…

You see, word is that the prospective trio’s first collab may not be on a single at all but a live performance, this very Sunday at V Festival…

This would make sense for a couple of reasons: a) it would make a very nice entry in Chris and Kem’s upcoming ITV2 spin-off show and b) it would mean Stormzy had kept his promise without having to release an actual track with a pair of amateurs and ruin his credibility as an artist.

“Everyone is so excited about making it happen,” a source reportedly told The Mirror. “Stormzy loves the boys and is a man of his word – he told them he’ll make it happen and he really wants to do it. Meanwhile, it will be perfect material for the boys’ new TV series.”

So is this nailed on? Well…

“Festival organisers are not going to let it happen if it looks like it’s going to be a dud, though. They want everyone rehearsed or they’ll scrap the idea altogether.”

Sounds like this is going to need a bit more work than those Love Island performances, boys…
