Hold on tight: the new trailer for Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time is about to beam you through a surreal space-and-time-bending journey. You're about to witness streets cloned, forests warped into hurricanes and billions of miles travelled in a second.
But it’s not just the mind-melting visuals that’ll catch your eyes – Disney’s new film, directed by Selma’s Ava DuVernay, features some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. At D23 Expo's live-action movie panel, Disney revealed Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis and Storm Reid will all star in the adaptation.
And now for the trailer: it's surreal. It’s brilliantly massive. It’s, well, see for yourself…
So, what’s A Wrinkle in Time all about? The film, based on the 1963 children’s classic of the same name by Madeleine L'Engle, stars Reid as Meg Murry, a young girl whose scientist father (played by Pine) has been missing after disappearing years earlier. In the book, Murry's search leads her and her genius 5-year-old brother, Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), to a tesseract, which Murry uses to travel the universe and explore unfamiliar worlds.
And we don’t have too long until the adventure hits the big screen: A Wrinkle In Time is only eight months away. Well, unless you use a tesseract to speed up the wait, that is.
A Wrinkle In Time arrives in the UK on 23 March 2018.
