That’s exactly what the team behind Pitch Perfect 3 have done in the first trailer for the franchise’s third – and final – instalment. A capella commentators John Smith and Gail Abernathy McKadden (John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks) gleefully narrate the Barden Bellas’ “big plummet. Their fade into nothingness” as the group return for one last hurrah – the chance to sing for United States troops based in Europe.

Fed up with their underwhelming – and, in some cases, downright gross – jobs, the girls come together to face bands with actual instruments for the first time. Will their “cute karaoke” win out? You can bet on it. Let’s aca-finish this…
