KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD ★★★★★

Not satisfied with giving makeovers to iconic heroes from either side of the pond (with Sherlock Holmes and the Man from UNCLE), director Guy Ritchie here adds Albion's most mythic king to his list (a remake of Disney's Aladdin is next). Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam seems a good fit for an Arthur brought up on the streets as a bit of a dodger and diver, while Jude Law swaps playing doughty Dr Watson for the wizard villainy of Arthur's evil uncle Vortigern. Zounds!

SNATCHED ★★★

Stand-up queen Amy Schumer teams up with Hollywood royalty Goldie Hawn for this female buddy-buddy romp. Dumped by her boyfriend, Schumer decides to take high-maintenance mum Hawn on holiday to Ecuador instead. Cue chalk-and-cheese shenanigans made all the more testing when the pair are kidnapped.

COLOSSAL ★★★★

So what connects Anne Hathaway's hedonistic party girl, forced to move back to her home town after messing up her life in New York, with a big, bad monster laying waste to Seoul on the other side of the world? The answer is funny and touching, and cultdom surely awaits.
