EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt shocked viewers of The One Show last night with his dramatic weight loss, a result of his training for this weekend's London Marathon.

The Walford legend, 48, discussed taking part in the sporting event on Sunday along with his 18-year-old son Sam in aid of the Air Ambulance Service. Sam was involved a serious car accident last year and was rushed to hospital where he was placed in an induced coma before enduring a five-hour operation to repair a broken pelvis.

Father and son are now doing their bit for the charity after praising the rapid response unit for tending to Sam at the scene of the accident within three minutes.

Woodyatt, whose character has been battling with health issues which saw him get a warning from the GP to alter his eating habits, stunned viewers who took to social media to comment on his slimmed-down appearance.

Describing the training as being "a pain", Woodyatt was looking forward to the run - let's hope he gets on better than his alter ego's attempt at getting fit. How many times did he abandon plans for a jog round the Square with son Steven?
