There’s also a new – much shorter – name: I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp and we’re told to expect some friendly rivalry among the new hosting team. As well as taking on yet more Bush Tucker trials (the mind boggles) in a bid to out-do each other, they’ll also battle to seek out the most interesting behind-the-scenes info. This is set to include visits to the Bushtucker Telegraph where they’ll interact with members of camp with Q&As and the like.
Celebrity guests will continue to appear on the show, while more famous faces (unlucky enough to miss out on a trip Down Under) also joining the conversation by new live video link ups. Main show hosts Ant and Dec – in between rounds of golf – will pop by for a good jungle gossip, while we viewers will be encouraged to get involved via both the app and sending questions in for the evicted campers.
2008 champ Joe Swash says he “cannot wait” to be back in his “second home” while Ramsey is excited about joining the show and not having to actually compete himself: “I watch and talk about it every year, so it will be a delight to do it as a job this year in Australia! And it’s an absolute bonus that I won’t have to taste Kangaroo anus…”
As for Solomon – who won in 2010 – she says: “I’m am so thrilled and excited to be a part of the ITV2 team in the jungle! I can’t believe I’m going back to Australia and I get to do the job of my dreams, alongside three of the nicest, funniest people around, including my man! Woo absolute job goals!”
And Pattison? Well, she’s not ready to let go of the jungle yet. “I can’t wait to work alongside Chris, Joe and Stacey, who are all brilliant. I’m dying to get back in the jungle and hopefully they’ll still let me give some of the trials a go! We can’t let the camp mates have all the fun now can we?!”
I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp will air live after each main ITV show later this year on ITV2
