Emmerdale actor Danny Miller has spoken out about the fans' support of Aaron and Robert's relationship.

"It's overwhelming that people have supported the couple as they have," said the soap star. "Most of the fans are young girls and boys, which makes you wonder why they're so interested in a gay couple that have been in the wars as much as we have!"

The fate of Aaron and Robert is currently hanging in the balance thanks to a car crash that looks set to leave them in grave danger. With at least one villager set to die by the end of the week, this could be it for #Robron. But Miller is hopeful that the characters make it through:

"I'm rooting for them - mainly because of my mortgage, but also for the fact that they've been through so much. It'd be nice if they could get a happy ending."

Producer Iain MacLeod also admitted that the reaction of viewers to the pairing left him surprised. Speaking about the #Robron following, the show boss said:

"I've never seen anything like it, to be honest. It's a phenomenon. Before I came to Emmerdale, I thought I understood it. But it's only when you're immersed in it that you realise how passionately our audience cares about these two characters.

"And we're properly rooting for them too - so let's hope they make it."
