Who is Tom Gillford?
Tom grew up in Rochdale but following university moved to London to pursue a career in education.
He now works as a Project Engagement Manager for The Royal Society of Arts and specialises in creative learning and development.
What is Tom’s baking style?
Flavours, and lots of them. In fact, Tom likes to surprise those he’s feeding with unexpected ingredients. Which means we’ll be seeing a lot of Mary Berry’s shocked face (you know the one).
Tom also enjoys making his own cheese and salami. The dream combo.
How well is Tom doing on Bake Off?
Tom was bumbling along, not doing anything deliciously eye-catching or noteworthy, when, out of nowhere during Biscuit Week, Paul did this.
The first Paul Hollywood Handshake of the series! We knew he was worth watching: in Bread Week, he earned Star Baker. However, a nervy Batter Week almost saw the standout star exit the tent, with fennel-flavoured churros failing to hit the mark.
Come Botanical Week, he was right back on top, earning a second Star Baker of the series.
