The unparalleled chemistry of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone will return this winter with La La Land, a musical from the writer/director of Whiplash, Damien Chazelle.
It’s an epic love story between a jazz pianist (Gosling) and an aspiring actress (Stone) in Los Angeles.
The first trailer has been released and it is too charming to resist. Think lingering looks, Old Hollywood styling, and a hell of a lot of kissing.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that the highly styled trailer – filmed in soft blue and red hues – is for a film set mid-century, but it is in fact the modern day.
Aesthetics aside, in the trailer’s soundtrack, Ryan Gosling is singing, crooning even. Is there anything this man can’t do?
La La Land will be the third time Gosling and Stone have collaborated, since co-starring in Crazy Stupid Love and Gangster Squad – both of which saw them conduct a wonderfully believable romance…
La La Land premieres at the Venice Film Festival in August and is in UK cinemas from 13 January 2017
