Summary
Acts compete against each other to gain the support of judges and viewers at home. The winner walks off with a cash prize and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance. The acts often include singers, comedians and dance troupes. The judges show their disapproval of an act by pressing a buzzer which lights a large "X" above the stage. The judging panel consists of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams. Previous judges have been Piers Morgan, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre. Spin-off series "Britain's Got More Talent" features behind-the-scenes footage and can be seen on ITV2 immediately after the main show. Created by Simon Cowell and hosted by Ant and Dec, "Britain's Got Talent" premiered on ITV in June 2007.
