Disney has been searching from Tatooine to Naboo to find the next Han Solo, and now it seems that they are closer than ever.
The studio has narrowed its search for actors to play young Han Solo in an upcoming spin-off film after a round of screen-tests in London, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The list includes Alden Ehrenreich, who put in a scene-stealing performance in this month's Hail Caesar, Transformers: Age of Extinction star Jack Raynor, and Taron Egerton, best known for his lead roles in Kingsman: The Secret Service and Eddie the Eagle.
Variety reporter Justin Kroll verified the list and added two names; Blake Jenner of Glee and Jack O'Connell from Unbroken.
The actors on this new shortlist were hand-selected from an earlier rundown of about 10 actors who had met with the directors, including Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Logan Lerman.
Some speculated that the process was speeding up in order to give Han Solo a cameo in Star Wars: Rogue One. But with principal photography already wrapped, and the film is set to premiere in December of this year, any last minute addition will have to take place in reshoots.
