Tom Hiddleston is brilliantly creepy in the first trailer for High-Rise

We probably won't move in, thanks

The first trailer for 1970s JG Ballard adaptation High-Rise has arrived – and it’s the creepiest fake advert we’ve seen since the beginning of Channel 4’s Humans.

Featuring Tom Hiddleston’s Robert Laing describing the benefits of living in a luxury tower block, the footage continually cuts between an idealised life (nice amenities, friends, fresh fruit etc) and a violent, disorganised alternative (rotting food, fighting and destruction). All in all it’s enough to make you question the sanity of any estate agent who showed you around the place.

That said, you would end up with neighbours including Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, James Purefoy and Reece Shearsmith, so maybe it wouldn’t be too bad.

Just don’t ask any of them for a cup of sugar – you might not survive the experience.
