“There’s a new Doctor on the ward and it’s me…”

We all know Peter Capaldi is the best person on the face of the Earth. Not only is he the Doctor, he takes playing the role as a calling more than a job. The man never seems to be ‘off’, and takes his responsibility to fans (especially younger fans) immensely seriously.

Who else can you imagine dropping into the Doctor Who Experience (in character) because he just happened to be nearby, or sending words of encouragement (in character) to a grieving child?

And now this. 14 year old Whovian Danny was gutted at missing out on last month’s Doctor Who Festival. An online campaign – #drwhodaniel– started and lo and behold, a new consultant promptly showed up at his hospital.

“There’s a new Doctor on the ward and it’s me…”

Incredible, right? An entirely improvised visit from Doctor Who, with banter and Easter Eggs to boot! Yes, the Doctor really did learn medicine at the University of Glasgow. Never take on Capaldi at a Who trivia contest.
