As Christmas approaches, there’s more drama afoot at Downton Abbey. Robert and Isobel are in the drawing room holding auditions for the Abbey’s official Santa. (A very important job, we think you’ll agree.)

But before they’ve seen anyone utter a ‘ho ho ho’ or shake their belly like a bowlful of jelly the duo are distracted by the arrival of DCI Vera Stanhope. 

Yep, Vera has hopped over from Northumbria because there’s been another murder – “It’s a stately home. There’s always been a murder.” 

And you’ll never guess who’s looking shifty…
