Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Netflix’s latest Original Series drops this week. It’s Marvel’s Jessica Jones, a comic book show based around a different kind of superhero. Meet Jessica, played by Krysten Ritter. Her stint saving lives was bought to an abrupt and tragic end. Now she’s a private investigator but her dark past is refusing to leave her alone. Jessica Jones also stars Doctor Who’s David Tennant, as Jessica’s mind controlling nemesis Kilgrave.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is available on Netflix from 20th November

The Man in the High Castle

Amazon’s latest original offering is based on Philip K Dick’s award-winning alternative history novel. Inside Out

Pixar’s masterful new animated tale Inside Out is set almost entirely inside the head of an 11-year-old girl. Riley’s mind is inhabited by five emotions – Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness – and as she moves house and attempts to make new friends things get a little, erm, messy in HQ. Silly, funny, meaningful and weighty all that same time, this is a must-watch for kids and adults alike.

Inside Out is available on blinkbox, iTunes and Wuaki.tv from 16th November

Testament of Youth

Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington stars alongside Alicia Vikander in this lush and moving adaptation of Vera Brittain’s war memoir. The tale begins in 1914 when, against all the odds, Vera becomes a student at Oxford’s Somerville College.

Testament of Youth is available on Netflix from 16th November. It’s also available on Amazon Instant, Wuaki.tvblinkbox and iTunes.

Into the Badlands

New US series Into the Badlands is airing on AMC before appearing week-by-week exclusively on Amazon Prime. The drama follows a warrior and a young boy as they journey through a dangerous post-apocalyptic land where guns have been outlawed, meaning kick-ass martial arts rule.

Into the Badlands is available on Amazon Prime from 17th November

Ant-Man

More Marvel. Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man hit cinemas earlier this year, and is now making its way to on demand. Rudd stars as Scott Lang (Ant-Man), a former petty criminal who acquires a suit which allows him to shrink in size and increase in strength. The movie also stars Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Michael Douglas and Judy Greer.

Ant Man is available on blinkbox and iTunes from 22nd November and Wuaki.tv from 23rd November

Gravity

Alfonso Cuaron’s Academy Award-winning space-set adventure Gravity follows engineer Dr Stone (Sandra Bullock) and astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) as an accident in space leaves them adrift and unable to contact Earth…
