H₂Olly Murs: X Factor presenter plays waterboy at auditions

New presenter was called on by the judges to keep the acts hydrated

Singer Olly Murs has found that presenting The X Factor comes with an extra duty: waterboy.

During this week’s London auditions, if an act was mid-way through their performance and needed a bit of a water break it was up to Murs to dash out and assist.

“You don’t walk for water anymore,” new judge Nick Grimshaw joked to one wannabe pop star as Murs nipped out to fetch some refreshment.

The Troublemaker singer, himself a former contestant, gets a big cheer every time. He’s even picked up a new nickname.

“Do you need some water?” Grimmy asked one act yesterday. “Hang on, let’s get H₂Olly Murs…”

It’s catchy, right?

In between the water runs Murs can be found on the side of the stage with co-host Caroline Flack. They chat to the acts before and after their performance and, from what I could see, there’s a whole lot of dancing going on backstage.

Of course, there’s also a bit of time for fun with photographs, including this face swap with Ms Flack…
