We live in the age of the selfie. Whether we are trying on clothes in a high street changing room, tanning on the beach, watching live sport or visiting cultural icons, many of us will quickly reach for our phones and go for our best trout pout (or just try not to look like we are concentrating on pressing the capture button.)
But the selfie – or more accurately it’s partner-in-crime, the selfie stick – is under threat. There is a backlash against the unwieldy arm extenders, with many venues, events and tourist attractions banning their use.
As Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon becomes the latest place to say no to the selfie stick, here’s a run down of some of the other places that won’t welcome your pic stick…
