Tyldesley – who gave birth to son Alfie back in March – has not been seen in Weatherfield since February when she went on maternity leave. Her character Eva Price fled after dumping boyfriend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), but it seems that Tyldesley has her fingers crossed for a reconciliation should Eva find out that it was Todd who masterminded their break-up.

When asked by RadioTimes.com whether Eva would take Jason back, the actress replied: “Of course she would. She loved Jason. And that’s the heartbreaking thing – they’ve both had a lot of tragedy in love and they’ve finally found each other. They’re such a sweet couple. And I love working with Ryan. So I’d love to see them get back together. And it’s Corrie – anything could happen.”

Tyldesley – who was speaking on the red carpet at this year’s British Soap Awards – also predicated fireworks between barmaid Eva and Sarah (Tina O’Brien), the latter of whom has recently started work at the Rovers Return. “Oh, no doubt. I’m sure there will be!” she laughed.
