Netflix’s superhero series Daredevil may have only hit the internet last Friday, but we’re already getting a sneak peek at their next Marvel programme – starring a certain former Time Lord…

New pictures have emerged from the set of A.K.A. Jessica Jones showing David Tennant’s villain Kilgrave in a heated conversation with series star Jessica (Krysten Ritter) – but for a character known as The Purple Man in the comics the series is based on, he looks a bit, you know, flesh-coloured.

That said, the former Doctor Who star does sport a rather natty purple tie in one other image, so perhaps there’s hope for him yet – and we’re sure the comic-book character’s mind-control powers and dark past with former superhero-turned-private eye Jessica Jones will remain, whatever his skin colour.

Elsewhere, the new pictures introduce Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, in the comics a wrongly-convicted prison inmate subjected to an experiment that gave him super-strength and unbreakable skin. From the images, Cage appears to be an ally of Jones (or just her getaway man), and you can expect to see him take a considerable role in the series as Netflix are planning to set the character up for his own spin-off.

Finally, we also get to see a bit more of Breaking Bad’s Ritter, whose version of Jessica Jones seems to involve a lot of hoodies and leather, but who also seems to have taken some punishment in images where her face is covered in scratches. It couldn’t be from that nice David Tennant, surely…

You can see more pictures from the set below – but you’ll have to wait until later this year (or early next year) to actually watch the series. We recommend binging on Daredevil while you wait...
