EastEnders: Why is everyone talking about Dot Branning and #3dot?

On last night’s EastEnders, Dot Branning (played by 88-year-old June Brown) caught a body (her son’s) and was picked up by the feds. It happens to us all.

Twitter and Instagram users rallied behind her with the hashtag #3dot (free Dot). Fans noticed this was similar to the three dots tattoo sported by gangsters and other campaigns for imprisoned rappers. And thus, the meme of the week was born: Dot Cotton as an OG from the Endz.
