Max (Jake Wood) has been left reeling by the demise of Emma Summerhayes, her death on New Year’s Day having now sparked a feud between the Brannings and the Mitchells. And the day of Emma’s funeral is to bring fresh heartache for Max (Jake Wood), whose actions could end up endangering the rest of the Brannings.

Scenes to be shown on Tuesday 27 January will see a concerned Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) look on as Max prepares for his late girlfriend’s funeral. However, he gets a visit from Bryant who tells Max that Emma’s family don’t want him there.

Max’s daughters – who have become increasingly concerned by Max’s erratic behaviour and risk taking – end up calling in Carol (Lindsey Coulson) for support. And she’s quick to tell him that he’s playing with fire and putting the welfare of his nearest and dearest at risk.

Later in the day, Max receives a visit from Emma’s mum – but when Carol jumps to the wrong conclusions about them, it sends Max into a drunken rage. Max then presses the self-destruct button – what will he end up doing?
