I mean, you’d really think people would learn to leave Liam Neeson’s family alone by now. But no, in the trailer for his new film Run All Night an ageing hard man is pulled back into the world of danger to help his son blah blah, yes, he punches people a lot more.

Clearly aimed at fans of the Taken franchise (Taken 3 is currently in cinemas), the newly-released action trailer sees Neeson star as former hitman Jimmy Conlon (aka Gravedigger), who has a particular set of skills – mainly involving shooting people – which he pulls out to defend his hunted son (Joel Kinnaman) from his nasty former boss (Ed Harris).

“I’m coming after your boy with everything I got,” Harris tells Neeson in the trailer. “And when it’s done – and it will be done – then I’ll let you die.”

I wouldn’t count your chances, Ed – if there’s one thing the Taken franchise has taught us, it’s that Liam Neeson won’t let anything he loves die

Run All Night is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (who previously called the shots on Neeson’s airborne action flick Non-Stop), and also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Bruce McGill, Genesis Rodriguez, Boyd Holbrook, Holt McCallany and Common.
