Paul Rudd gets tiny in new Ant-Man concept art

The best things come in small packages...

It’s safe to say that Marvel’s next movie superhero Ant-Man comes with some… unusual abilities. Rather than super-strength, flight or laser vision, his party trick is to shrink down to a minuscule size – then use his special helmet to talk to ants. Hulk might not want to start booking his holidays just yet…

Still, different is good and Marvel are now giving us a chance to see how the effect will look on screen (following the release of a trailer earlier this week), with new concept art (above) showing Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang standing perilously near to a plughole. Don’t turn on the tap or evil will triumph!

If you imagine that our hero might have trouble stopping villains in his tiny state, never fear – despite the size change Ant-Man retains all his normal strength, so he could still totally help you move some boxes or something.

A photo also released today shows Rudd’s Lang talking to inventor of the Ant-Man serum, Henry Pym (Michael Douglas) – presumably asking if Pym’s DEFINITELY sure he doesn’t have any super-soldier serum or jetpacks lying around…

You can get a better look at Ant-Man in the trailer below – including the bit where he rides an Ant like a helicopter. So he can fly after all…
