Jennifer Lawrence doesn’t just have to wield a bow and arrow, lead a revolution and fight the powerful forces of the Capitol in Mockingjay – Part 1, she also has to sing.
The 24-year-old actress, who plays Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movies, was tasked with performing a moody melody called The Hanging Tree in the third movie, which hit UK cinemas this week. And, according to director Francis Lawrence, she wasn’t very happy about it.
“She’d probably tell you it was her least favourite day,” director Francis Lawrence told RadioTimes.com. “She was horrified to sing, she cried a little bit in the morning before she had to sing.”
“But she did it and she did it all day – and she hated me for making her do it all day – but she did and it’s great. She’ll probably never really understand it because she’s so sensitive about the singing,” he continued.
A clip of the Oscar-winner’s sultry, bluesy singing has since been released and we don’t know what Lawrence was so worried about. If you ask us, singing is another talent J-Law should proudly add to her list…
