Lily James’ transformation into a Disney princess is complete.
The 25-year-old British actress is swapping the small-screen as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey for the fairytale lead in Disney’s new, live-action Cinderella.
The first full-length trailer for the much-anticipated movie has just been released, giving us a good look at the glossy adaptation of the children’s classic, crystal slippers and all. It seems to be a faithful take on the tale – the moral being “where there is kindness there is goodness, and where there is goodness there is magic” – with no shocks or surprises to be found in this two-minute teaser. But one thing’s for sure, Disney’s Cinderella is a seriously star-studded movie…
Introducing, Lily James as poor Cinders. Gorgeous, even with dirt on her face.
Game of Thrones‘ Richard Madden as her handsome and beautifully blue-eyed Prince Charming:
Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother:
Lily James’ Downton Abbey co-star Sophie McShera and Holliday Grainger as the ugly sisters:
And Helena Bonham-Carter as Cinderella’s much-needed Fairy Godmother:
Disney’s Cinderella also stars Hayley Atwell, Derek Jacobi and Stellan Skarsgard. The film, which follows Disney’s 1950 animated film, is directed by Kenneth Branagh.
