The finale of Peter Capaldi's first series as the Time Lord was always going to be divisive. Danny Pink and Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart returned from the dead as Cybermen to save the world as Clara and the Doctor seemed to part ways and Nick Frost made a cameo as Father Christmas in the final moments.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter had a lot to say – so, here's a round-up of how Doctor Who fans reacted to the long-awaited Death in Heaven.
Many viewers felt that Steven Moffat had hit exactly the right note.

And finally, the most-talked about quote of the finale – when the Doctor told Clara in their parting moment that he doesn't like hugs because "it's just a way to hide your face."
