Emmy award winner James Spader has made his mark on the small screen in the big crime world of The Blacklist.

The original Brat Packer – with films including Pretty in Pink, Mannequin, Wall Street and Secretary under his belt – plays Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, a former government agent turned high profile master criminal.

The first series sees Red surrender himself to the FBI after decades of eluding capture. He makes a deal to help them track down and catch some of the world’s most dangerous criminals on his ‘blacklist’ – most of whom are impossible to catch and some of whom are even unknown to the federal agency.

His only condition when making this deal with the FBI is that he will only use the help of a rookie profiler by the name of Elizabeth Keen. She begrudgingly assists him, but is puzzled by his unusual and mysterious interest in her.

After an electrifying first season – which saw Spader receive rave reviews and a nomination for a Best Actor Golden Globe award – the new season has just as many sensational twists and turns, with new surprises around every corner.

There are a string of thrilling new assignments, with stars Mozhan Marno (House of Cards) and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) making guest appearances. And viewers haven’t seen the last of the elusive Berlin (played by Peter Stormare), either.

Series one is now available in box sets if you want to catch up on all the action. And, if you want to see how the drama continues to unfold, series two starts 3rd October, Fridays 9pm Sky Living.
