X Factor: Tinie Tempah to join Cheryl for Judges’ Houses

By

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Tinie Tempah are clearly a duo who well – having topped the charts with their single Crazy Stupid Love, they're now to partner up for this year’s X Factor’s Judges’ Houses.

It’s the round where the judges get to zip off to somewhere glamorous with their category, whittling them down to the acts who’ll be taken through to the live shows. While it’s not been confirmed, it’s thought Cheryl and Tinie’s scenes will be shot in France, with Cheryl this year choosing which of the girls will make it through to the final.

Tinie is no stranger to X Factor, having joined Tulisa Contostavlos in St Lucia in 2012 to decide which girls would make the cut. In fact, this was the same year that Cheryl herself was a guest judge, helping Gary Barlow with the Overs selection.

It had been rumoured that Cheryl would be joined once again by former Black Eyed Pea’s frontman and The Voice coach Will.i.am. He was by her side in 2010, going on to perform with contestant Cher Lloyd later in the series. However, his busy schedule has made this too difficult this time around.

A source close to the show tells RadioTimes.com it hasn’t been a case of a last minute change or panic. “There’s always a number of names in the frame. There’s always a list of people that [the judges] really want to work with. [This is] just one of those things that didn’t happen this time.”

Fellow judge Louis Walsh confirmed last week that he'll be joined by Tulisa, with Bermuda the destination on the cards for his Groups category. The guest judges for Mel B (who'll mentor the Boys) and Simon Cowell (who's got the Overs) so far remain unconfirmed, although it's thought Mel is heading to Mexico.

X Factor continues this Saturday and Sunday at 8:00pm on ITV
