After nine years together, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have announced their marriage in France last weekend.
The ceremony - which took place in the presence of their six children - was confirmed by the couple's spokesman today.
The pair arrived in the coastal city of Nice, on the Cote d'Azur, last Saturday and are believed to have held their nuptials at Chateau Miraval, keeping the event under wraps until today.
Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 39, first met on the set of 2005's Mr and Mrs Smith when Pitt was still married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston. They got engaged two years ago but, until recently, gave no hint of an imminent ceremony.
Nine years after their first appearance together on screen, the pair recently confirmed plans to co-star in new film By The Sea, written and directed by Jolie. The flick is set for release in 2016 and will be shot in Malta.
Pitt and Jolie aren't the first celebrity couple to marry in secret. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini married her husband Jean-Bernard earlier this year after just a few months together while Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig have also tied the knot with no forewarning.
