There’s a new face on the X Factor panel this year in the form of former Spice Girl Mel B, but while viewers wait to find out what kind of judge she’ll be, singer Brian McFadden has a good idea.
“Mel’s going to be bossy with the boys,” McFadden tells RadioTimes.com, who’s dancing skills were judged by Mel B in celebrity dance contest Stepping Out.
“Mel doesn’t take any crap,” he adds, “She kind of reminds me of Sharon [Osbourne] a bit.”
But McFadden thinks she’ll “offer the most” on the panel because she’s “got the most experience”.
“She’s very knowledgeable. She’s done everything – she’s been a Spice Girl, she’s had a solo career, she’s been on Dancing with the Stars in America, she’s done a lot of different things,” McFadden explains.
“I think it’s a good panel this year. It’s going to be a different chemistry, an interesting chemistry,” he says of his former Westlife manager Louis Walsh clocking up his eleventh series alongside returning judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
McFadden has been doing a bit of judging of his own, branding Walsh the “worst” cook in his new celebrity-themed cooking show, ITV’s Who’s Doing the Dishes?
“Louis was unfortunately probably the worst I’ve ever seen,” McFadden tells us of the new daytime show, which sees contestants attempt to guess the identity of their mystery celebrity host from their surroundings and a meal that they’ve cooked.
So does that mean it’s McFadden’s turn to pop up on the X Factor – Judges’ Houses with Louis perhaps? Westlife's Shane Filan got to go last year after all. Er, no. It doesn’t look like it.
“He really only takes people that he manages on that. No, we’ve never talked about that.”
Although, of a Westlife reunion, McFadden says, “None of us have had a conversation about it, but I’d never say no to it. I don’t think any of us would ever say no to it.”
