Cheryl talks X Factor: It’s “easy” to insult “rude” Simon Cowell

Coming back to X Factor hasn’t been a bad decision “yet” says Cheryl, who admits insults flow off her tongue around Simon

It’s taken a whole lot of persuading from Simon Cowell to get Cheryl back on The X Factor, especially after her short stint on the US judging panel. But she’s not regretting it just yet.

“I haven’t yet, but there’s time, there’s time,” Cheryl tells us on the red carpet at today’s London auditions.

She’s certainly ready for any banter that might come her way from Mr Cowell. On whether she has any insults up her sleeve she tells us, “They’re natural, they just come out naturally. Do you know what? It’s so easy, he’s so rude sometimes, they just flow off my tongue. I don’t even have to have them ready.”

And with so much attention on her recent wedding to beau Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, questions have been raised about how she’ll be known on the show. X Factor’s announcer Peter Dickson says alongside his recordings for Mel B, Louis Walsh and Simon he’s been practising using Cheryl’s married name. But the singer tells us, “I’m Cheryl”.
