David Walliams: I really want to be Simon Cowell’s X Factor helper

The Britain’s Got Talent judge is eyeing up Sinitta’s usual spot in the Judges’ Houses round of this year’s singing contest

David Walliams has his eye on a role on the X Factor. Not as a full-time judge mind, rather as Simon Cowell’s assistant during the Judges’ Houses stage.

Cowell has previously taken his contestants to Barbados, where Walliams seems confident his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge is going again. We can see why he might fancy the job.

“I really want to be Simon’s helper at his judges’ home in Barbados. I told him I’d come out of his closet, but he said no,” Walliams tells the Sun.

But he may have to fight Simon’s long-time Judges’ Houses buddy Sinitta, who said earlier in the year that she was going to be back by Simon’s side.

“I love working with him, he’s a lot of fun and a genius when it comes to working with talent on these programmes,” Sinitta told Chronicle Live.

Of course, it probably wouldn’t take too much persuasion to get Walliams in that leaf bikini of Sinitta’s. Or Robbie Williams’s in fact – yes, the leaf bikini look has actually had two airings on the show.

In fact, Louis Walsh had three extra judges last year – Sinitta, Shane Filan and Nicole Appleton – why not have both Sinitta and Walliams in the matching get ups alongside Mr Cowell?

Sources close to the show say final decisions are yet to made surrounding the locations and guests for Judges’ Houses. Although rumours suggest Louis Walsh will head somewhere exotic, new judge Mel B could be off to Mexico, while Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may take her contestants to Nice in France.
