This autumn, one wealthy romantic will take home the very piano from the Rick's Cafe/As Time Goes By scene in Casablanca, and a fantasy fan will own a scary piece of The Wizard of Oz.

The fully working piano, played by Sam in Casablanca to Ilsa Lund (played by Ingrid Bergman), is expected to reach seven figures at the No Place Like Hollywood Bonhams Auction in New York this November.

Austrian composer Max Steiner played the very same piano in 2006 at the Hollywood Bowl. Fittingly, he covered nostalgic songs from the Casablanca movie.

Other Casablanca film items will also feature in the auction, including the 1940s Buick Phaethon automobile from the film, parts of the set from Rick's Cafe, plus papers and passports created as props for the movie.

A flying monkey from The Wizard of Oz (which the Wicked Witch of the West sends after Dorothy) will also be up for grabs, as will Audrey Hepburn's Givenchy Hat from Funny Face, and a Vivien Leigh negligée from Gone with the Wind.

The auction will take place at Bonhams, New York, from 20 November. See here for more details.
