Rebecca Ferguson is swapping a turn as England’s medieval queen for a role in upcoming action film Mission Impossible 5.
The 30-year-old Sweden-born actress has bagged the female lead in the next instalment in the franchise, starring opposite Hollywood royalty Tom Cruise as Impossible Missions Force operative Ethan Hunt.
Alec Baldwin has also been cast as the head of the CIA, alongside returning cast members Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner, reports Deadline.
Ferguson earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Elizabeth Woodville in The White Queen, the BBC adaptation of Philippa Gregory’s historical novel. She stars in upcoming adventure film Hercules, alongside Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane and Joseph Fiennes.
Mission Impossible 5 will be in UK cinemas 26 December 2015.
